NSA has a long history of supporting students to help ensure a strong future for shellfish production, research and management.

In 1989, Past President Scott Siddall established the Student Endowment Fund (SEF). The SEF provides financial assistance to students to attend the annual conference where they can meet and mingle with senior scientists, resource managers, and shellfish producers. Recruits, as we like to call our student members, are trained in the technical aspects of scientific research, resource management and shellfish production. The Annual conference provides an invaluable opportunity for them to discuss research, make new connections and arrange for future employment.

The Centennial Campaign ends December 31, 2008.
